Believe in the power of “NO”, to be happy

Though considered a negative word in general context, a “no” certainly has a positive side to it which needs to be looked upon deeply.  It takes a bit of effort to realize, how this two –letter word can make a huge difference, in our lives. It has the power to define our happiness or sadness, and can save us from embarrassments & regrets, later. Let us once, not consider it rude or impolite, but a handy solution, to a number of problems.  If you have ever sat down and lamented, over the guilt of not being able to amend, a wrong decision in past, where a “no” was a reliable solution, it is your time to reconsider its importance.

There are a hundreds of situations, in a professional environment, in a peer group, at home, or any sphere of life, where we avoid saying a “no”, due to the fear of hurting or disappointing our folks at that moment. We need to understand and let go, this fear if we do not want to leave ourselves disappointed, for the entire life. Do not think twice before denying someone over something, if your inner voice tells you to do, as you won’t be put behind bars for it. It will make you feel lighter in the long run and will also give others around you, a clear picture of what you disapprove of, and not compel you for it, the next time.

It is therefore, important to learn from the mistakes of the past, and not let your own self, hamper your bliss; by shying away from admitting what you want. Do not let anything overrule your individuality and abilities to decide what to do, and what not to, as this hugely affects your self-esteem. Thus, the ultimate goal is to confidently act upon this “No”, whenever it is the call of the hour.
